After all it's mentioned several times to Reishin, "it's amazing how you two can still be friends". And in the last book, Reishin does ask Yuushun about what he was doing before the official exams, and even asks Yuushun "what has the Kou clan done to you in the past" (or similar effect). So something is up with Yuushun. While I think he's ultimately doing all of this for a good reason, I guess Anju's words are basically reminding Ryuuki that in his current state, he hardly has anyone on his side.
