Thoughts on what things would be helpful for the wiki. (Just some thoughts)
1. Character profiles: definitely, these are good. I think for the major characters, we could have individual pages. For the minor characters, they can be put on a page like ‘officials’ or ‘residents of Sa Province.’ The Japanese wiki has two ways of finding characters: alpha order and by ‘organization.’
2. Places: should be relatively easy! All of the places are in one province or another, therefore just put them all in that category (translate Japanese articles)
3. Timeline: Beg people to donate a timeline; copy from wikipedia.
4. Character ages: Beg people to donate.
5. Things/objects: Most of these are relatively simple. The problems are official ranks and bureaus, which are difficult to translate.
6. A listing of the various novels, anime, drama CDs
7. Where to find translations (SubD has said we can use her listings: this will then be relatively ez to wikize?)
These pages might also be helpful as potential models:

http://hiki.cre.jp/saiunkoku/ (Japanese fan-run Saiunkoku wiki: might prove useful for some ideas on structure?)
Potential structure for Wiki:
Novels
List of Novels
List of Translations and Summaries (get from SubD)
List of differences between Anime and Novels
Characters
By Organization
Alphabetical order
Character Ages
Saiunkoku World
Places
Things (things is kind of a vague word)
Government
Supernatural (good idea for a category? I think we should have one to explain all the weird stuff going on)
Timeline

Hi. As for the timeline and character ages, I’m perfectly willing to donate mine, if it could be of any help. I’ve just translated it roughly into English, and there’s still rooom for improvement. You can check it out here:

Thanks! I’ll definitely use some of this info (though I do want to avoid speculation. I’d rather just say something like ‘he’s around such and such age.’)
Yeah, I think so too. Most of the figures there are certain, but some can only be guessed if not to be missed. I just thought it would be neat, I mean so that the format would appear in an orderly way, to replace the many “around’s” in the text with a disclaimer. In the text, maybe we could use font color to indicate which are certain and which are not.
And this post might help a little in terms of the list of publication, I’ve incorperated shortstories into the main books, with kind of a “timeline” feature.

Uh…shame on me. I didn’t read the Japnanese wikipedia entry before. It seems that there’s already a comprehensive list of books and dramas and other stuff there…
